AISHE - Goa
To portray the status of higher education in the country, Ministry of Education has endeavoured to conduct an annual web-based All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) since 2010-11. The survey covers all the Institutions in the country engaged in imparting of higher education. Data is being collected on several parameters such as number and type of teachers, student enrolment, programmes, examination results, education finance, and infrastructure.
The survey is being conducted through electronic mode for which a centralized portal (http://aishe.gov.in) has been developed wherein each Institution has to register and upload the data.
Indicators of educational development such as Institution Density, Gross Enrolment Ratio, Pupil-teacher Ratio, Gender Parity Index, Per Student Expenditure is also calculated from the data collected through AISHE. These are useful in making informed policy decisions and research for development of education sector.
Keeping in view the need for generating reliable data on regular basis, the Ministry further decided to create Higher Education Statistics & Public Information System (HESPIS) scheme. HESPIS is an umbrella scheme under AISHE catering to the need of various kinds of Statistics related to higher education sector.
Accordingly, as per the instructions and guidelines of Ministry of Education, the AISHE, State Unit, Goa was established to co-ordinate the activity of uploading the data on the AISHE portal. A committee with the Secretary of Higher Education as its Chairperson and the Director, Directorate of Higher Education as its Member Secretary is established to guide the State AISHE Unit.
The AISHE State Unit, which is headed by the State Nodal Officer and the office is functioning with the Statistical Cell of the Directorate of Higher Education. Goa was among the few states to achieve 100% data upload of its Institutions on the AISHE portal. Various Statistical Reports prepared on the basis of AISHE data is available on DHE website under statistics.

Registration of Higher Education Institutions on AISHE Portal
The Registration of Higher Education Institutions for All India Survey of Higher Education AISHE 2020-21 has been started. Those Institutes who have not yet registered may kindly do so.
