Providing skills to school and college students to empower them and prepare them for the future is one of the recommendations of the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020). Furthermore, employability skills are essential, especially given the technology-dependent workplaces.
Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Govt. of Goa is collaborating with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to implement the company’s flagship project called the Youth Employment Programme (YEP). This program is designed to prepare youths, especially from the weaker sections of society, for employment by filling the required skill gaps. TCS is offering the programme under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). With the mission to “Connect people to opportunities in the digital economy, build equitable, inclusive pathways for women, youth and marginalized groups”, this program is being used to strengthen the skills of our college students so that they have an edge in the competitive employment environment and are well equipped to carry out the roles and responsibilities in their career life.
The course content comprises around 100 hours spread over 90 days during the academic year and will focus on Business skills, digital skills and domain exposure. The trainers for this program will consist of the team constituted by the TCS out of their employees.
